Welcome to VerifyU. By accessing or using our platform you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
VerifyU is a digital credential and achievement management platform that enables educational institutions to issue, manage, and verify student credentials, badges, and certificates based on the Open Badge 3.0 standard. The platform serves administrators of participating institutions and the students they enroll.
You may use the platform only if:
Your account is created using a secure, time-limited invitation link sent by your institution. You are responsible for:
Passwords must be at least 8 characters and include a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. VerifyU will never ask for your password via email or phone.
You agree not to:
Digital credentials and badges issued through VerifyU are authorised and controlled by your institution. VerifyU acts as the technology provider and does not independently verify the academic merit of any credential.
The VerifyU name, logo, platform design, and proprietary technology are owned by or licensed to VerifyU. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, service marks, or logos without prior written consent.
Content you upload (such as a profile photo) remains yours. By uploading content you grant VerifyU a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform.
The platform may integrate with third-party services (e.g., cloud storage, email delivery, blockchain anchoring). These services have their own terms and privacy policies. VerifyU is not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. VerifyU does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VerifyU and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
VerifyU may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the platform, other users, or third parties. Your institution may also request account deactivation. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
